The CEO Mindset: Part 2

Becoming an entrepreneur is more than a decision to start your biz. It’s about cultivating a CEO mindset.

Developing your mindset starts by being positive, learning from failure, being persistent, learning to love, and being flexible. To continue developing your mindset, there are 5 additional key points for you to think about and apply.

Let’s dive in.

Main Point #1: Don’t do it yourself

This means having a sense of knowing when to delegate something to others and knowing when they are the right person for the job.

Clarity is the key to delegation. When you pass work on to someone else, make sure you’ve outlined the objectives, constraints, deadlines, and anything else you think is important. By going through this process, you will be able to identify any other key factors before they become obstacles.

Main Point #2: Listen to your gut instinct

Listen to what’s driving you to get what you want when the stakes are high.

Learning to trust your intuition or your instinct is not easy. The best place to start is to identify your core beliefs. Write them down and keep them in mind when you’re making decisions or at important points in your day. When you look at what is most important to you, you’ll walk in the right direction.

Main Point #3: Connections are key

Take time to reach out to others and maintain connections, as well as build relationships with new people.

Each day, give yourself a few minutes to follow up. This means sending emails, making phone calls, or meeting face-to-face with clients, partners, or other important people. If you divide time each day to get this done, it will become an essential part of your routine.

Main Point #4: Be a Rebel

Knowing when to adhere to your own principles instead of beliefs or limitations that have been impressed on you.

You need to once again return to your core beliefs to achieve effective non-conformity. Focus on what matters to you and develop the confidence to work towards that, especially when it means going against the grain. Push yourself to step up and disagree when something doesn’t cohere to what you think is right.

Main Point #5: Set your goals

You move forward when you maintain a vision or ‘End Game’ to work towards. This is key to achieving your personal vision.

Having a clear idea of what your goals are will help you with every other point mentioned above. First, write down your long-term goals. Then break it down into the short-term goals you need to achieve to reach your big goals. Then write them down again. And again. And keep going…visualize them daily!

You’re set! Go start applying these 5 points today. Will it be easy? Probably not. But it will be worth it.

You got this and I’m rooting for you!

Buena suerte. Good luck. Sorte on.
